The Ávila National Park, officially known as Waraira Repano National Park for its indigenous Cariban name, protects part of the Cordillera de la Costa Central mountain range, in the coastal region of central-northern Venezuela. The area’s highest elevation is Pico Naiguatá, at 2,765 meters (9,072 ft) above sea level.

Henri Pittier National Park is Venezuela’s oldest national park, originally created in 1937 with the name Rancho Grande by decree of President Eleazar López Contreras. The park was renamed in 1953 after Henri Pittier, the famous Swiss geographer, botanist and ethnologist.

Angel Falls is a waterfall in Venezuela. It is the world’s tallest uninterrupted waterfall, with a height of 979 metres (3,212 ft), and a plunge of 807 m (2,648 ft). The waterfall drops over the edge of the Auyán-tepui mountain in the Canaima National Park.
